Meet Dr. Abraham Jacob
Board-Certified Cardiologist Dedicated to Preventive and Personalized Care
Dr. Abraham Jacob, MD, FACC is a board-certified cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients with cardiovascular disease. His passion for medicine began early in life, inspired by watching his father work as a pharmacist in a local hospital in India. Seeing firsthand how medical care could save lives sparked a lifelong commitment to healing and service.
Dr. Jacob’s path into medicine began as a pharmacy technician, where his interest in medications and their impact on patient outcomes deepened his desire to become a physician. Drawn to the innovation and life-saving potential of the field, he ultimately chose cardiology for its ability to both extend and improve lives.
He began his academic training at Texas Tech University and earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean. He completed his postgraduate training at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the Kansas City VA Hospital, followed by advanced fellowship training in interventional cardiology with Iowa Heart, P.A. at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
After more than a decade in group practice, Dr. Jacob established his own private cardiology practice in Plano, Texas, in 2012. His practice focuses on patients with cardiovascular disease as well as those at increased risk, emphasizing prevention, early detection, and personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Jacob is a partner at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano and holds staff privileges at Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano and Texas Health Resources Frisco. He also serves on staff at the Dallas VA Medical Center, where he is proud to care for our nation’s Veterans.
Believing that prevention is one of the most powerful tools in cardiology, Dr. Jacob developed a streamlined Cardiovascular Screening Program designed to identify heart disease before symptoms arise—when intervention is most effective. He has also participated in multiple Phase I through Phase III clinical trials, helping advance innovative cardiovascular therapies.
Known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach, Dr. Jacob is dedicated to clear communication and treating each patient as an individual—not just a diagnosis.
